Garrys mod not working

today i tried starting up gmod it crashes it says hl2.exe has stopped working i have tried every solution it doesnt work idk but if i can get it to work soon u wont see me on untill get a new pc or something which will be months i really cant belive this is happening if anyone wants put solutions and il see if they work they but other than i will not be on gmod until further noticed

I had the same problem just now, but I'm not sure if it's anything too big. Every time I start up Gmod, it stops responding for a minute or two in order to boot up. If it stops working for about five minutes or so, I'd say open task manager, go to the processes tab, and stop the hl2.exe process, then wait a few minutes. Usually it works again after rebooting the game. Hope this helps~

Update: Well I have great news our very awesome owner fryman helped me fix my Garry's mod today and I can officially start it up and play now my destiny break has another week but for the next 2 days il be as active like normal
